What are joint injections?
Joint injections are medications delivered directly to your injured or damaged joint via a needle. At Restore Osteo of Colorado, the team safely performs joint injections using their unique Advanced Arthritis Relief Protocol (AARP) and the Genvisc 850 intra-articular system.

This Medicare-preferred alternative to knee replacement surgery uses fluoroscopy guidance to make sure the medication goes to the exact point of your injury or area of damage within the joint.

In most cases, your provider recommends visiting Restore Osteo of Colorado for once-a-week injections during your time in treatment. Over time, you should experience an improvement in symptoms like discomfort, pain, and joint stiffness that result from damage to the cartilage or soft tissues.

Genvisc 850 joint injections contain hyaluronate, a thick substance that can help lubricate your joints. With better lubrication, your damaged joint can move more smoothly and comfortably.

What can joint injections treat?
Joint injections can treat joint damage from osteoarthritis, particularly within your knees. Your provider might also recommend them for shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, or other joint pain. Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis and develops when the cartilage in your joints breaks down over time because of wear and tear.

Your knees are especially prone to osteoarthritis cartilage degeneration because they bear a lot of your body weight. They’re also responsible for holding you up when you stand and keeping you stable and mobile as you walk or run. Healthy cartilage absorbs the shock of your movements, but osteoarthritis can result in pain, stiffness, or instability. Joint injections improve the joint’s lubrication for smoother, more comfortable movement.

Hormone replacement therapy is a treatment that many women and men are turning to as they age. Hormone therapy for both sexes, which has been around since the 1930s, is gaining in popularity. More and more people are discovering just how easy and effective the procedure is when implemented correctly. Women going through menopause are particularly susceptible to improper hormone levels and it’s effects. Testosterone therapy has numerous benefits, especially to that category of patients.

Hormone Pellet Therapy uses hormones extracted from natural plants to replicate the body’s normal hormone levels. Implants placed just under the skin, release tiny and regular doses of hormones into the body, maintaining correct and natural levels. Other treatments, such as oral and transdermal therapy, produce high levels of hormones all at once.

Anti-aging is a broad field that can include both medical and cosmetic approaches to retaining the benefits of youth as you grow older.

Aging is an inevitable part of living, and though the average lifespan of Americans has been increasing in recent history, older citizens don’t always enjoy good health in their later years. Like most people, you probably want to stay healthy and youthful for as long as possible, even if you can’t stay young forever.

There’s exciting scientific research that’s looking at how understanding cell function, genetics, environment, and other factors influences how healthy people are as they age, which is already improving medical knowledge of how to retain youthfulness despite growing older. This research holds much promise for the future, but there’s already plenty you can do to remain fit and well as you age.

What are the best methods?
Doctors have known for many years that unhealthy lifestyle choices are a significant factor in causing ill health and death, but the extent to which your diet and lifestyle influence how well you age is becoming ever more apparent.

Put simply, the healthier your lifestyle, the more likely your body will be able to stay active and youthful as you get older. That means eating a balanced, nutritious diet that includes:

Plenty of fruit and vegetables
Whole grains and sources of fiber
Nuts and seeds
High-quality protein
Omega 3 fatty acids
Optimal levels of vitamins and minerals
Plenty of water
A wide variety of different foods
You should also minimize your consumption of:

Saturated and trans fats
Sugars
Processed foods
Salt
Refined grain products
Red meat
Alcohol
Exercising regularly, including aerobic exercise that gets your heart pumping, weight and resistance training to strengthen muscles, and stretching exercises to keep your body supple, are also essential.

Other causes of premature aging include:

Smoking
Taking drugs
Too much exposure to the sun or tanning beds
Not getting enough sleep
Chronic stress
Not managing other health conditions effectively
Learning to deal with stress, taking sufficient rest and time for yourself, and cutting out bad habits can make a significant difference as to how well you age.

What is nutritional testing?
Nutritional testing is a way for the team at Restore Osteo of Colorado to diagnose nutritional deficiencies within the body, which can contribute to or worsen chronic conditions and other health complications.

The team performs testing using a sample of urine. Instead of attempting to provide your sample in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable public restroom, you provide the urine sample in the comfort of your home. Then, you ship it to a lab for testing

With a detailed urine analysis, Restore Osteo of Colorado can view the measurement of various vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients in your body and use the information to interpret your overall health.

What do the results of the tests mean?
Your provider at Restore Osteo of Colorado reviews the results of your tests with you and explains how it identifies both nutrient deficiencies and nutrient imbalances.

Nutrient deficiencies and imbalances may or may not come with symptoms like headaches, fatigue, weakness, and more. Even if you get symptoms, you might not attribute them to a dietary imbalance at first. Without treatment, deficiencies and imbalances can lead to chronic health conditions like anemia, dementia, and even blindness.

Using your nutritional testing results, your provider can find out which nutrients you lack in your diet. Restore Osteo of Colorado offers a number of high-end nutritional supplements that can help restore balance in your body and lower your risk of health complications. The team also provides customized metabolic programs to optimize your health and functioning.
Who should consider nutritional testing?
Nutritional testing can benefit you if you have a chronic condition, if you’d like to lose weight, or if you struggle with symptoms from a deficiency. The team at Restore Osteo of Colorado might recommend nutritional testing if you have:

Headaches or migraines
Chronic fatigue
Insomnia
Depression or anxiety
Hormone imbalance
Fibromyalgia
Type 2 diabetes
Allergies
Asthma
Chronic inflammation
Digestive issues
Autoimmune diseases
Your 3-6 month customized metabolic program can help improve symptoms of these conditions and stop you from developing other conditions and complications. Once your program is complete, you return for a follow-up round of nutritional testing to make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need.

To find out how you could benefit from nutritional testing, book a consultation by phone or online at Restore Osteo of Colorado today.

What is medical weight loss?
Medical weight loss is a research-based approach to lowering the amount of fat on your body. Your physician might recommend this if other approaches fail, you’re overweight or obese, if you already have health conditions related to excess body fat, or if your weight contributes to joint pain, particularly in your knees or hips.

Even if your weight doesn’t bother you, having extra fat on your body can lead to the following:

Arthritis
Type 2 diabetes
Certain types of cancer
Acid reflux disease
Sleep apnea
Heart disease
Stroke
High cholesterol
High blood pressure
Back or joint pain
If you’re interested in exploring medical weight loss as a solution, the team at Restore Osteo of Colorado can discuss the program with you and help you decide whether or not to participate. They customize your program to fit your needs and help you work toward your goals.

How is medical weight loss different from other weight loss programs?
Medical weight loss doesn’t involve surgery, diet pills, or other approaches to which many people turn as a final resort. Instead, the team at Restore Osteo of Colorado evaluates you, helps you define specific goals, and designs a supportive weight loss plan just for you.

The goal is not only to lose weight but also to adopt long-term habits to keep it off for good.

Medical weight loss is different from other plans because your program is catered to your unique needs. Plus, you receive ongoing physician support as you work toward your goals. The team monitors you regularly, answers your questions, and helps keep you motivated.

What does this program include?
The team may ask that you undergo nutritional testing before they design your plan. Nutritional testing can show whether or not you’re getting the nutrients you need through your current diet. They can identify any nutritional deficiencies you have and help you address them with supplements and dietary changes.

Using information from your consultation and testing, the team creates your personalized weight loss program. It may include:

Dietary and nutritional guidance
Nutritional supplements
Regular nutrient testing
Exercise suggestions
Throughout your program, the team helps you address and change the habits that led or contributed to your weight.

Weight loss doesn’t have to be confusing or hard to navigate. For a personalized medical weight loss program with expert support, call Restore Osteo of Colorado, or book an appointment online today.
